CE Course Overview

The Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinarian (CCRV) is a 115 CE hours course that trains and certifies licensed veterinarians in veterinary rehabilitation for canines. Student will engage with course material through both lectures and wet labs. 

This course is divided into 4 separate sessions, two held on-site and two held online. Intensive hands-on practice learning is focused with 28 hours wet lab in this course.

This course is limited to 30 students.

Main Speakers

Ronald Koh DVM, MS, CVA, CVCH, CVFT, CCRP, CVMMP
Dr. Koh received his DVM degree in 2006 from National Chung Hsing University College of Veterinary Medicine in Taiwan. He completed a specialty internship in acupuncture in 2010 and received his Master’s degree in 2012 from University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. He gained certifications in acupuncture (CVA), Chinese herbal medicine (CVCH), and food therapy (CVFT) through the Chi Institute, Canine Rehabilitation (CCRP) through University of Tennessee, and Canine Medical Manipulation through Integrative Veterinary Medical Institute. He is currently working on his residency in Veterinary Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation. His clinical interests include TCVM and integrative medicine for pain management, neurological disorders, geriatric conditions, and palliative and hospice care. Dr. Koh is an assistant professor and the section chief of the Integrative Medicine Service at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He has authored several articles on acupuncture, rehabilitation and integrative medicine for publications in the United States and China. He has been invited to provide lectures and trainings on traditional Chinese veterinary medicine, integrative medicine and rehabilitation for veterinary schools, conferences, and general public events in the United States, China, Russia, and Indonesia. Dr. Koh is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University.
Janice Huntingford DACVSMR, CVA, CVPP, CCRT, CAVCA
Dr Janice Huntingford is a 1984 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, in Guelph, Ontario and a Board Certified Specialist (Diplomate) in Canine Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine (DACVSMR).  She is certified in Animal Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), in Animal Acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, in Chinese herbal Medicine (Chi Institute) and is a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner.  In 2007, Dr. Huntingford opened Ontario’s first salt water canine therapy pool and canine rehabilitation centre. Dr. Huntingford lectures nationally and internationally on rehabilitation, acupuncture, geriatric medicine, herbals and pain management to veterinarians and veterinary technicians. She has authored or co-authored several text book chapters on Rehabilitation and published a number of peer reviewed manuscripts. She consults and sits on a number of advisor boards related to herbal medicine, laser therapy and holistic medicine. She teaches regularly at Cornell University and is involved in Resident Training for Canine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation for Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Huntingford continues to research into the treatment of animal pain. She has published a peer review paper on laser therapy for elbow arthritis and has completed a clinical trial on a unique kidney preparation for aging cats.

Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinarian (CCRV)

Students of the Integrative Veterinary Rehabilitation course are eligible for the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinarian (CCRV) certification, endorsed by the Integrative Veterinary Medical Institute.

The certification requirements are as follows:

  • Complete all 4 sessions of the course.
  • Pass Session Exams with a score above 75%.
  • Pass Final Written Exam with a score above 75%.
  • Pass Final Practical Exam with a score above 75%.
  • Submit two (one orthopedic case and one neurological case) Integrative Veterinary Rehabilitation case report to be approved.
  • Complete 30 hours of observational internship with a certified practitioner.
